Wishful Wednesday

This is Wishful Wednesday!
A virtual wish list of sorts.
As I child, I used to love making wish lists for Birthdays, Christmas...etc.
I now tend to make them in my head, so I thought it would be fun to share those items that I am currently wishing for, on my blog instead.

Now isn't this the most adorable dress ever?! I mean come on, it has does on it and the most perfect little gold buttons! I am a sucker for anything animal, so maybe its just me, but I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. Unfortunately, I think this item will be staying on my wish list for quite sometime, because at this moment, Modcloth only has one left, in a size XS :/

*On a funny side note, something completely unrelated to Wishful Wednesday..... I saw a lady today at the gym in a long sleeved chambray shirt, flair jeans and clogs going full throttle on the treadmill. Is it just me or does anyone else think that the gym is the wrong place to experiment with denim on denim? hahaha :)

What are you wishing for this week?

Chocolate Zucchini Bread

I was given a TON of homegrown Zucchini a few days ago, along with some yummy Corn and Walla Walla Sweet Onions. I knew what to do with the corn and onions...but I had sooooo much Zucchini I was wondering how I was going to use it all. So I was thinking Zucchini bread, but wanted to do something different. I then remembered eating this delicious bread that my sister in law makes:
Chocolate Banana Bread and was inspired to make Chocolate Zucchini Bread!

I took elements from that recipe, along with a few other random zucchini bread recipes I found online and there we have it. Yummy Chocolate Zucchini goodness.

What you need:
1/2 cup European Style Vanilla Yogurt
1/4 cup Oil
1 1/2-2 cups Grated Zucchini (Make sure you squeeze or drain the excess moisture out)
1 Egg
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Flour
1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 tsp: Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Salt, Cinnamon
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder ( I used dark.yum)
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts

The Egg&Oil didn't make it into this picture party, but a random bag of regular sugar did....oppppsss :)

Steps:
In a bowl, add grated zucchini, yogurt, sugar, oil and egg. Mix together.
In another bowl, mix together the 2 different flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cocoa powder
Combine the wet and dry ingredients
Mix in the walnuts & chocolate chips
Pour batter into a greased loaf pan

Pop into a 350 degree preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, depending on your oven. You will know it's ready when a toothpick is inserted into the center and comes out clean.

Allow to cool a bit before you remove bread from the loaf pan
Slice and enjoy :)

Music Monday

This will be my last Music Monday post.
I had lots of fun with it, but lately it has been harder and harder to post the videos I want to post, due to playback restrictions that Youtube enforced on certain sites.

Every week the song I really, really want to post ends up being restricted...so I pick my 2nd or 3rd favorite, which isn't the original point of Music Monday at all.

I am glad you guys enjoyed it and am happy that some of you discovered new bands that you now like, so I am sorry it's going... :/

For my last Music Monday I chose a long time favorite song, hope you enjoy it!

Manchester Orchestra-The River

To replace Music Monday and to keep with a regular weekly post, I will be starting Wishful Wednesday, this Wednesday. What will I be wishing for this week????

Stay tuned...

Crochet Blue Lace

Remember back to this post: Hot Day on the Hill,
when I briefly mentioned that I was out shopping for a dress for my brothers wedding?
Well, I finally found another excuse to wear this lovely Crochet Blue Lace Dress that I so adore.

Yesterday, my guy found free tickets online to a bunch of different Art Museums around the country. So we chose one close to us, the Bellevue Art Museum, which I had never been to before. Some of the pieces were so beautiful and thought provoking, I wish I could have stood there are gazed upon them all day.

After the Museum, we walked down to a pretty downtown park to hang out and snap a few photos.
There was a wedding going on, so I didn't get any good photos of the park itself. It had a really amazing moat that went around the entire outer edge of the grass and a beautiful fountain.

Bzzzzzz...see the worker Bee gathering pollen on this beautifully colored flower?
Yay! The leaves are starting to fall :D
Dress: Pins and Needles via UO
Brown Brogues & Belt:Target
Braclet:AE

The weather today is finally cooler and much more fall-ish!
Yesterday was in the 80's and really humid...I felt like I was back in San Antonio. Gross.

I can't wait to wear this look with some thick tights, layer on a cardigan and a pretty scarf :)

I am in love with all the colors in the photo above. Especially the mustard, burnt orange, wine and browns. Now if only my clothing budget would allow for a complete new fall wardrobe *sigh*...someday :)
(Sorry for the crappy quality collage btw. I don't have a proper photo editing program on my Mac :/ )

Yay for the weekend! Will be doing an outfit  post within the next couple of days...haven't done one of those in awhile!

Blog's First Birthday!

Today marks 1 year since I started Place Clever Title Here...!
I have had so much fun and am so happy that you guys have wanted to continue following me along this little blogging journey of mine.

I really appreciate all your kind comments and it's great to know that people are actually interested in what I have to share. Thanks for stickin' with me, even back when I only had 1 or 2 measly posts a month.

Reflecting back, here is my first post ever:

I feel as though I have a much clearer direction for my blog now than when I first started, but it's still my  "point of view" :)

Vegan French Toast

Vegan, Berry French Toast.
Yummy. Easy. Simple.
You should really make this now....you won't regret it.

1 Peeled Banana
4 Large Strawberries
Desired amount of Blueberries
1/3 cup Apple Juice
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
4 slices good quality, fresh French Bread.

Steps:
Combine first 5 ingredients in a blender
Pour fruit mixture on a plate
Soak Bread on both sides
On an oiled or non-stick skillet, cook until lightly browned on both sides

Elephants Never Forget

Loving all things animal, I immediately gravitated towards this elephant necklace while shopping a few weeks back. Upon trying it on, I wasn't very impressed. The length of the chain made it lay at an awkward spot, I didn't particularly like the silver chain that it came with and it had a cool eye charm on it but it was placed oddly and laid near the colar bone area.

I was pretty bummed out, but then I had a lightbulb moment and realized how simple it would be to switch out the chain for a shorter, gold chain that I already owned.
So I took out my little pliers and waalaa...love.

I didn't take a before photo of my little project, but here is the chain and cute little charm that unfortunately didn't make it back on the new chain because it looked weird.

After:

(Ohhh and I kept that little pretty blue charm on)

I can't wait to wear this and can't get enough of the Indian inspired style of this little guy... :)

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Sounds in the City

On Saturday one of my favorite bands, Iron and Wine, played a show in Seattle at the Paramount and I was lucky enough to get to see them! My lovely husband bought the tickets for us pretty much the second they went on sale, to ensure that I would be able to enjoy their amazing sound live.

Before the concert, we hung around downtown, going to various touristy spots that we rarely go to on a regular basis. When we go into the city, we usually stick with parks and the neighborhoods, so it was fun to be in the fast paced, heart of downtown for a change.

Here's some photos I took before the show :)

After we parked and walked a few blocks, we realized we were pretty hungry, so yummy Chinese it was! Honey chicken over brown rice...mmmmm.
Pike Place.
The infamous gum wall!
YUMMY!
hahahaha
The wall opposite the gum wall, is plastered with posters, graffiti, and random words/sayings. I found this one to be particularly interesting.
While in the alley, I couldn't help but to snap a few outfits photos. Please excuse the odd uphill angle and my feet doing awkward things...
Favorite new accessories.
Flowers made of steel
On the Pier

My new brown brogues! Finally! It only took me like 2 years to find a perfect pair in my size that weren't astronomically priced. haha
Seattle Center

We were all walked out, so we decided to take the monorail to get back near The Paramount. It was Tim's first time on the monorail...which was a surprise to me lol
Right before the show...

Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos inside of the concert :/ I didn't want to lug my big ol' camera around and on their website it said no cameras or recording devices, but sure enough, when we got inside and the show started, I noticed people using all sorts of little cameras! Boooooo. Oh well, great memories nonetheless!

(Outfit Details:)
Floral dress on clearance at Target for only $10! Belt & Shoes-Target too haha. Turquoise stone ring-Gift from Mom. Bracelet-AE.

Dont' want the weekend to endddd!!

Letting the Air Dry.....

I was looking through some old photos in my photo library and I came across a ton of photos that I don't even remember taking.
Some funny, silly and others completely random.

This one I chose to share.....random.
AND funny. hahaha

After looking at this photo for a few seconds, it finally registered where and why I took this photo. It was last year at my brother and sister-in-law's place in Spokane and we were hanging out in their back yard. We spotted these undergarments air drying on a clothes line in one of their neighbors back yard and I couldn't help but to snap a photo.

Why? Well, because the big bloomers made me chuckle a little and the fact that the owner of said underroos wasn't ashamed to let those babies fly like a flag for all his neighbors to see was pretty amusing as well.
Also, it's a pretty rare site to see clothes air drying on a clothes line these days.

Someday when I have a backyard, I would like to air dry my clothes too.
Something so classic and homey about it.

But don't expect to see my underwear flying around in the breeze....

Have a great weekend all you lovely people!
Can't wait til' tomorrow....seeing one of my favorite bands with the hubby.
Iron and Wine....can't wait :D
